Transformation That Roots From Him
“The Christian life requires a transformation of the self that can only be accomplished through direction from a master. The problem lies not in knowing what we must do, but how we are to do it. And the how is learned only by watching and following”
For a while now I have be thinking about communal kingdom life and consistently when talking to people I get this question: Why?
One major reason: I believe Jesus uses those around us to sharpen us through confession, accountability, and vulnerability.
With these disciplines we hope to see the friends who we commune with walk in true repentance covered by the blood of the Cross.
I was studying the word for ‘common’ found in Acts 2:44 and Acts 4:32. I always thought this word had to do with property, but if you look at the Greek you will find that it doesn’t. The Greek implies a consistent character found within the community. This character is derived from knowing who the master is.
Does your community know the Master?
Are they engaged in the scriptures?
Is Jesus in you the consistent conversation?
Before we can even look at how a group functions and moves we must know who what the character of Christ looks like…
When thinking about Jesus and his leadership with in community, what part of his character and practices do you want to see practiced more in your community?
Wow. It's Quiet Here...
