Going to a Halloween Party?

The Fresh Prince has some words of advice for those of you who are looking to meet that special one…

Finding People You Know in Magazines //

jstevensrelevant

I flipped to the contents for my new relevant magazine that came in the mail.  And there was my friend Jarrett looking at me with his modelish looking face.

I have never flipped through a magazine and saw someone I knew…  especially at a whole 8.5 X11 glossy.

It was just weird…  By the way Jarrett Stevens (Former Willow Creek Axis Ministry guy / 7:22| leader) is one of the best guys I know in ministry.  We got the chance to really get to know each other during a mission trip to Chicago with Clemson’s FCA.

Now he and his wife Jeanne are back in Chicago planing Soul City Church.

If you got people in the Chicago downtown area… Send them to Soul City.  These two people are dear to my heart and love the Lord like crazy.

Technology Addict?

“Continuous partial attention?
The New Yorker cover aptly dissects the age.”

Confession: I love my iPhone too much…

Shane Hipps – “Could the Cellphone help you quit smoking?”

For me to contemplate – Does technology master me?  Am I a Technology Addict?

Unfortunately… if I say I’m not, I’m probably lying…

Now What?

The Fencers at Grace :: En Garde

Grace uses our building for so many different things during the week. One of the uses that I love the most is done by the Brookwood Fencing Club.

The Fencing Club uses the auditorium for practice every week. If I have cameras on down stairs in the control room I sometimes see them running through the auditorium for their indoor pre-practice jog, while the ladies down below in the Children’s office can also see from the shaking ceiling tiles due to the clamoring of these swashbuckling swordsmen.

During our meeting today I record this example of the fencers doing their practice lunges during a meeting I was in.

In all seriousness… I give these guys two huge thumbs up. They put tons of time and practice into a really hard art/sport. It really is quite interesting. I admire their commitment to an uncommon sport.

Not only that… swords died out a long time ago and they are still rocking it.

One of the guys on our production team is supposedly really good. Elam… Keep rocking it.

So if you ever find yourself looking to learn the swordsmen trait… we have about 30 of them who are masters of the sword.

If you are at Grace and haven’t checked out The City yet then you are missing out.

The City is where you get to connect, communicate, and collaborate with the whole of the Grace body. Its a place for existing communities to meet other communities. The City is where you can find ways to serve at Grace and you can post places where you may need people to serve along side of you.

All and all its a pretty cool place…

If you don’t go to Grace, you can get a sneak peek by going to the Plaza. The Plaza is the space between our City and the greater community. You can see whats going on at Grace, join in discussions, and sign up for events.

Speaking of events… Christmas Eve at the Arena! You can go to the Plaza and RSVP by using facebook to let us know that you are coming. Bring all your friends and family!
